You will need:
- a large
playspace preferrably out of doors
- a 'treasure'
(ie. a bag of cookies)
- a set of arrows
made from medium weight cardboard (ie. chip or cereal boxes) one
for each child playing
What to do:
- pass out
one arrow to each child playing
- encourage children
to set up a trail of arrows to follow that will lead to the treasure
- help the children
to lay their arrows one at a time around the play space making sure that
they follow along logically (ie. from one to the next)
- the last arrow
laid should point to the location of the 'treasure'
- once all arrows
have been laid, go back to the first arrow laid and begin to follow the
arrows together as a unit so that one child is not getting to the treasure
before everyone else
- when you get to
the treasure, the leader picks it up and then you must follow the arrows
backwards to the start (each child picking their original arrow up
as you go)
- children may then
cash in their arrows for a piece of the 'treasure'
