You will need:

• one paper plate per child
• a length of yarn for each child
• black wax crayons
• red paint Recipe Link
• paint brushes, newspapers, paint smocks
• stapler

What to do:

• encourage children to draw a black head with crayon and to draw a black line down the back of their ladybug to show where its wings are
• encourage children to color black dots on their ladybugs wings
• attach a length of yarn with a knot tied in the end (so it won't pull through) to the top of the ladybug with a stapler
• paint ladybug with red paint (black wax crayon will resist paint)
• label work
• hang ladybugs around room to dry (or dry flat and hang later)
• clean up
