You will need:
- 1 sheet of
colored paper (preferably darker colors) for each child
- a single hole
punch
- assorted yarn
- children's
scissors
- crayons
What to do:
- after having
discussed and looked at pictures of bats, explain to the children
that they are now going to create their own bats
- encourage
children to draw a bat-shape on their paper
(you may have to do this for younger children)
- cut out the
bat shape
- draw on facial
features
- punch a hole
in the top of the head
- tie a piece
of yarn through the hole
- label bat
- clean up
- encourage
children to hold yarn and run quickly letting bat 'fly' like a kite
behind them or hang bats from the wall or ceiling
