You will need:
- a medium-sized
play space
- one or two boxes
of cardboard decorations and garlands of tinsel, icicles, a star
What to do:
- one child
will be the tree
- the other
children must decorate the tree
- decorations
should be ready with either masking tape to attach them or have loops
or pipe cleaners to attach them on to children's bodies
- let children
try different combinations of decorations
- have a long
mirror on hand so they can look at themselves when they are finished
being decorated.
Special Note:
- children enjoy
creating the decorations too
- this could be
done as a craft prior to playing the game
- make balls from
chip boxes and cereal boxes and decorate with glitter, yarn, fabric
- drape garlands
around
- use icicles
for added glitter
- use scarves
for garlands
- make a paper
plate star and attach it either like a mask or like a hat
- put a fancy
skirt around the bottom of the 'tree' made from construction paper
or fabric scraps, or from an old head scarf or use an old table cloth
- see what ideas
the children can come up with
