Rudolph Puppet
(paper lunch
bag)
You will need:
- one paper lunch
bag for each child
- one pipe cleaner
for each child
- crayons
- masking tape
What to do:
- pass out
lunch bags
- encourage
children to hold up one hand "stop sign" fashion and make their fingers
wave up and down or "talk"
- explain that
this is how their puppet will "talk" once they have their hand inside
their lunch bags
- encourage
children to experiment with their hands inside their paper bags (it
may help to show them how the bag folds over right where the puppet's
mouth could be)
- tell children
that they are going to make a 'Rudolph' puppet
- pass out
pipe cleaners and encourage children to bend them into the shape of
a staircase for Rudolph's antlers
- when the
bending is complete, each child tapes the centre of their antlers'
to the top of their lunch bags
- use crayons
to draw on eyes, nose and mouth
- put on puppets
and sing, "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer" together
- label work
- clean up
