Owl
Puppet
(paper
lunch bag)
You will need:
- a brown paper lunch bag for each child
- beaks and feet pre-cut from coloured paper
- white glue
- crayons
- children's scissors
- small brown chicken feathers
What to do:
- explain to children that they are going to be making an owl puppet
- tell children to place one of their hands inside the paper bag and
find the bottom of the bag where it is folded over
- place fingers into the fold and proceed to make the owl bag 'talk'
by moving fingers together in a mock waving motion
- explain that this is the owl's face area and his tummy side
- lay the bag down in front of you so that you can make a face for
your owl from scraps and/or crayons
- glue chicken feathers onto tummy area if desired
- decorate
- label work
- clean up
