Animal Games: Duck, Duck, Goose - assembled by: Laurie C. Benn

What to do:

one child is chosen to be the fox looking for her dinner

she is picky and will only eat a goose for dinner

the fox walks around the outer edge of the circle touching each child she passes on the head, saying, "Duck, duck, duck...."

when the fox gets to the child of her choice, she says, "Goose!"

that child must then stand up and race around the outer edge of the circle in an opposite direction to the fox

the first child back to the open space wins and the remaining child becomes the fox again tapping each child he passes saying, "Duck, duck, duck..." until the next child is chosen and so on

game ends when all children have had a turn being the fox

encourage children to cheer while others are running

Special Note:

If playing this game with very small children, it is better to have the two children run around the circle together holding hands (prevents head on collisions and is just as exciting for little ones!) Once they reach the open space, they automatically trade places to get a new fox.
