Sewing Cards
(old greeting cards)

You will need:
- old children’s birthday cards with bright pictures on the front
- scissors
- a single hole punch
- shoe laces (or use yarn and a hair-pin as a needle)
What to do:
- pre-cut out birthday card images so that the edges are rounded
- pre-punch holes all around the perimeter of the card about 1/2"
to 1" apart
- pass out sewing cards to children and encourage them to thread the
shoe lace lin and out of the holes all around the edge of the card
to make a pretty border
- help younger children with the pattern of sewing in and out or over
and over the edges
- carefully take out laces when finished so they are ready for next
time!
