What to do:
- pre-cut lengths
of string or yarn to be used for dipping (about 8 to 12"
long)
- encourage
children to fold their papers in half and then open flat
- dip length
of yarn or string in desired color of paint
- hold above
container and let excess run off
- drape string
on one half of the paper in an interesting design leaving the tail
end of the string hanging out of the bottom of the paper next to the
fold
- close the
clean half of the paper over the string design
- press down
on paper with one hand while gently pulling string out from between
the two paper lhalves (you may have to help hold the paper for
younger children and let them pull the string out)
- open paper
and look at the beautiful design created
- try more colors,
two strings at once, pressing and opening, etc.
